November 11, 2011, Most Weddings Photographed in One day

Last Nov. 11, 2011, which is known as the famous 11-11-11, because many wedding couples chose to get married on this day. I was hired by La Bella Wedding Chapels as one of their wedding photographers for the day. I ended up shooting 14 weddings in 14 hours. I believe this is a world record for the most weddings shot by a wedding photographer in one day. Don't you think? I'm very proud of having accomplished this extraordinary feat.

The owner, Shawn, is a very nice gentleman. He's been in the business for a very long time and it was a pleasure to work for him. He had a total of three photographers that day to shoot 42 weddings total. We all shot 14 weddings each.

Being a house photographer means you have to be a very skillful wedding photographer, able to make important decisions in an instant, able to handle and control all sorts of crowds and have a tremendous knowledge in after ceremony formals and posing.

There is little room for error. The shots have to be properly exposed and sharp. This is a special day for the bride and groom and they expect very good wedding pictures. As a wedding and portrait photographer, I understand the importance of this day for wedding couples.

Next year, on Dec. 12, 2012, probably would be the busiest day for weddings because of the date, 12-12-12. Easy to remember isn't it? After this, there won't be another day like this for a century. 01-01-01 will be in a hundred years from now.

Miss America 2012 exhibits Express clothing in Las Vegas mall

I learned from my daughter, Chrissy, that the Miss America contestants were going to the Fashion Show Mall to model the Express  clothing line a few days before the finals.

Since I'm a fan of beauty contests, I attended and photographed the one hour event. There were other professional photographers out there and I lined up with them to shoot the most beautiful women in America.

All 53 Miss America contestants were there. The MC called them one by one in alphabetical order, starting with Miss Alabama and ending with Miss Wyoming.
As each Miss America beauty queen walked the runway,  they were greeted by the cheering fans. They waved and smiled as they walked along the runway to pose for the audience and photographers.

When all 53 contestants had their chance on the runway, they all came back in double file to parade the crowd once more. They stayed to pose for photos and sign for autographs.

Tonight, Miss Wisconsin won it all - always last to be called but first overall. She also impressed me with her opera singing in the talent portion of the contest.
First runner-up went to Miss Oklahoma, second runner-up went to Miss New York, third runner-up went to Miss Arizona, and fourth runner-up went to MIss California.

Miss Jr. and Teen AmeriQueens 2012
When Melissa Victors, from USA Productions and Dream Girls USA Pageant saw my website, she recognized one person in my portfolio who
convinced her to book me and not look for anymore glamour and fashion photographers in Las Vegas.

The beauty that caught Melissa's attention was Emily Miller, Miss South Dakota , who competed in the Miss USA pageant in 2010, at the Planet Hollywood Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. after seeing her beautiful glamour photos I took, she contacted me and booked me to photo-shoot two of her young Miss AmeriQueens of 2012.

The winner of Teen Miss AmeriQueen is Emily Avera, Miss Teen Texas; and the winner of Jr. Miss AmeriQueen is Lauryn Hinckley, Miss Jr. North Dakota.

The whole session took 4 1/2 hours long, with 1 1/2 hours of hair and make-up styling courtesy of Your Beauty Call.

I took pictures of them together and solo. I used the Rembrandt and Paramount lighting techniques on them. A hairlight was also added to enhance the over all image. Six wardrobe changes took place. I took pictures of them wearing their crowns, saches, crowning gowns and holding their Miss AmeriQueen trophies.

They were both very beautiful and talented. Their poses were superb and their smiles were very cute.

I would like to thank Your Beauty Call hair and make-up for providing the queens great looks for the photo shoot. You guys are the best. Some of the pictures in this session are going to be published in the Pageant Magazine around March or April 2012.

Congratulations to Emily Avera and Lauryn Hinckley for winning the Miss AmeriQueen beauty contests. You guys are truly the best in the country.
